Why was this memoir written?

I had it in my mind since 2010 to eventually write my book called “Life on a Clothesline.” After nearly passing away from block heart arteries, I felt the Devine call on my life to write my memoir. In a matter of 10 days after discharge from hospital in August 2025, 50,000 words were assembled.

What is your experience as a writer?

In my 30 year information technology career doing application support, I did a lot of technical writing. In 2019 at the time of the federal election, I composed my first fiction short story which was based on true to life events here is Australia.

Why do you write?

If I was compared to a pressure cooker on the stove, writing is my release valve. I have suffered much in my life and the only way to process the trauma associated with my suffering is to write about it.

Why are you a Pastor of the First Church of Palaeontology?

As a Christian with 40 years of experience in the church, I finally felt the call to break out and do my own radical version of church which combines religion and science. In order to understand where we have come from, who we are now and where we are going, it is essential to embrace theoretical science and not just empirical based science with my expression of faith. For example, is it possible to prove the existence of God emprically? The short answer is no.

For the following questions, the short answer is Yes.

Is is possible from a theoretical point of view to prove the existence of God? Is there evidence of supreme beings existing in a different time and space? How do explain the provision of supernatural events that seeming happen at random but in reflection served a purpose in our existence?

What does the First Church of Palaeontology believe?

Inspired by the books published by Eric Von Daniken (Chariots of the Gods) and Paul Wallis (The Eden Series), The first church of Palaeontology has the following theme. “Where we have come from, who we are now and where we are going.” Weekly meetings are held online and at no point is money ever asked from anyone. The reason for this the cost of hosting these online meetings is covered by book sales.

Members will to the following creed to formulate a  common ground:

  1. We believe in the immaculate conception,  birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and follow the teachings of the 66 books of the Holy bible as the owners manual to life. We do respect other religious groups and are welcome to share in friendly theological discussions. Friendly means to value differences and not pass judgment on any the differences.

  2. We are open to understanding ancient writings that support the written biblical text.

  3. We agree with Albert Einstein’s statement that “religion without science is blind and science without religion is lame.”

  4. We accept responsibility for our actions and behaviours.

  5. We abide by the golden rule of treating others the way we want to be treated.

  6. We believe in the safety and well being of all members with respect to physical and mental health.

  7. We believe in the separation of church and state where political opinions are withheld and there is no endorsement of any political party.

  8. We are never to ever appear as radical or as a cult with respect to public opinion. We avoid demonstrations and public demonstrating.

  9. We respect the privacy and rights of individuals.

  10. We do not hold judgment against any person for their sexual preferences or expression of their binary assignment or hybridisation of their binary assignment.

  11. We believe that in area social contact and sexuality, this is a personal matter and consent must be respected between individuals who wish to engage in intimate social contact.

  12. We believe in the rights of the unborn child. Children are the future generation to become productive citizens in the economy of a nation of which older people are receiving care directly or indirectly from the younger generation.

  13. We will never become a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) but we encourage members to be generous towards organisations that look after orphans and widows in distress of wherever they are in this world.

The aforementioned points are the basis for friendly get togethers online where it is all about sharing and caring for each other.

How will the First Church of Palaeontology survive financially?

Through Book Sales and conducting meetings online with Zoom and Meetup. As the Pastor I will never take a salary or wage. Because the First Church of Palaeontology will never be a DGR, I will never ask any person for a donation. Since the church is online and presented using the internet, there is no need to be concerned with overheads associated with land, a building or having to pay staff a wage. The COVID pandemic of 2020 showed the world the meeting online is a safe way to get together. No trouble maker will walk in off the street and disrupt the meeting. As the host of the future Zoom meetings, I have the ability to mute disruptions with the click of a mouse.
